Pam established Humanity United in 2005 with the support of eBay founder Pierre Omidyar, her husband. As the foundation’s guiding visionary, Pam was integral in developing Humanity United’s mission and values and is actively engaged in steering its course as Board Chair. Pam is also the chair and founder of HopeLab, a nonprofit organization that combines the highest standards of scientific research with innovative solutions to improve the health and quality of young people with chronic illness. In 2004, Pam and Pierre co-founded Omidyar Network, a philanthropic investment firm that works to catalyze economic and social change in areas such as microfinance, property rights, and government transparency.

Pam serves as a board member of Tufts University’s Tisch College of Public Service, and is a member of the advisory council to The Elders. Pam is a graduate of Tufts University, where she earned a bachelor of science degree in biology; she later studied molecular genetics at University of California, Santa Cruz.
